Dear Friends,
The recent announcement from the Public Health Office saying that restrictions will not change appreciably for the next two months does offer some hope and light at the end of this long tunnel. Once again we will reschedule our rental clients and ArtSpring Presents performances. Thank goodness for our mighty team of staff, board, volunteers, patrons, and supporters!
The BC Provincial Health Order of November 19 requiring event cancellations continues until further notice. We hope for some loosening of restrictions by June. Fortunately ArtSpring’s Makana Youth Choir is able to continue under the current order.
As the Province’s vaccine program continues to roll out, here’s is a list of BC Covid-19 Immunization clinics.
With thanks,
Cicela Månsson

The Ancient Fabric that No One Knows How to Make
Nearly 200 years ago, Dhaka muslin was the most valuable fabric on the planet. With thread counts in the range of 800-1200 per square inch – an order of magnitude above any other cotton fabric that exists today – its dedicated fans included Marie Antoinette, Joséphine Bonaparte and Jane Austen. Then it was lost altogether. How did this happen? And can we bring it back?

Grange Park Opera presents…
Grange Park Opera (Surrey, UK), presents an innovative new version of Maurice Ravel’s comic opera L’heure espangnole (The Spanish Hour). Transposing 18th-century Toledo to London’s Kensington Church Street, the opera was filmed in and around the stores of this vibrant city location – with the soundtrack pre-recorded at the Wigmore Hall.
