The Salt Spring Forum celebrates its 5th birthday by welcoming back the very first Forum speaker, Globe & Mail National Affairs Columnist and author Lawrence Martin. After a discussion in the theatre with Martin on The Undoing of Harperland: Where Trudeau Will Lead Canada, be sure to stay for a special reception in the gallery.
Lawrence Martin is the author of ten books and an Ottawa-based columnist for The Globe and Mail on public affairs. He served as the Globe’s bureau chief in Montreal, Washington and Moscow. Martin’s books include several critically-acclaimed national best-sellers: biographies of Jean Chretien as well as Lucien Bouchard, two volumes on Canada-U.S. relations, and a history of the Gorbachev government. Martin’s most recent book Harperland exposed the unprecedented degree of control that Stephen Harper exercised over Ottawa institutions as well as the anti-democratic nature of the Harper government.
*Please note the earlier than usual 6:30 pm start time in the theatre. The gallery reception takes place at 8:00 pm.
*The Salt Spring Forum thanks Garry Oaks Winery, Salt Spring Cheese, Hastings House, Harbour Air, and the Salt Spring Exchange for the generous support.
