A TIME TO PLAY: FILM & PANEL DISCUSSION

November 6, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

- $10

Time to PlayTime to Play is a film of interest to anyone, but is specifically directed to those who are spending time with young children – parents, grandparents, early years educators and teachers.

Kim Hunter, the film’s producer and Salt Spring resident, has been working with young children her whole life, but formally in the classroom for the last two decades. This 45-minute documentary stems from her concerns about the ways our culture is making us think about what is best for children. She hopes the film can be used as a ‘spring board’ for conversations about how we can better meet the needs of children and stimulate the conversations we need to have in order to create a new paradigm in the way we understand early childhood: the significance of family and home of rhythm and routine, invoking wonderful relationships with each other and the earth, the importance of time and space for deep, meaningful play….

Time to Play was filmed on Salt Spring. A panel discussion will follow the film.
