Here’s Looking at You: Call for Submissions

Portraits of Andy Warhol, Cindy Sherman and Keith Haring by Robert Mapplethorpe

From a time when portraiture reigned to Picasso’s cubist portraits that questioned our ideas of a unified self to Cindy Sherman’s “self” portraits to today’s selfie culture, the subject of the human self is a timeless theme in the visual arts.

Last year Salt Spring artists submitted artwork to our 20/20 Vision curated art exhibit and this year we invite submissions to our Here’s Looking at You exhibit. Submit an image of your piece (i.e. your artistic exploration of the human self) to us by January 31, 2015 and your work may be chosen to appear in the exhibit. There are also two prizes to be won: a $1000 Jury Prize and an $800 Viewer’s Choice Prize.
