To celebrate its fortieth anniversary, the Salt Spring Island Weavers and Spinners Guild will display its work in an exhibition and sale to be held over the Thanksgiving weekend from October 4th – 9th at ArtSpring.
This year, the Eye for Colour show will exhibit work of guild members paired with artists from other guilds and will feature pottery, basket weaving, painting, glass blowing, and many other crafts. The exhibit is open daily from 10 to 4 p.m.
From October 6th – 8th, guild members will also sell unique items including woven fabrics, blankets, yarns, knitwear, and decorative and personal items. This sale will be a wonderful opportunity to purchase those special holiday gifts truly representative of Salt Spring Island arts and crafts. The sale will be open from 10 to 4 p.m. on October 6, 7, and 8th.
In celebration of the guild’s fortieth anniversary, the public is also invited to attend a reception and to meet some of the founding members, hear stories and learn about the guild’s history. The reception will take place on October 4th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
