$5 – $23
David Wisdom is a visual artist whose work has been exhibited at The Vancouver Art Gallery, The Teck and Equinox Galleries in Vancouver and at FaultLine Projects on Salt Spring Island.
Wisdom began presenting public slideshows in the late 1960s with a group of friends that included Jeff Wall, Ian Wallace and Rodney Graham, the artists who became the core of the so-called Vancouver School Of Photography. The four later went on to form the music project UJ3RK5 in the late 1970s.
After 30 years as a network radio host on CBC Radio 2, Wisdom revived the public slide show concept retooled for the digital age. Since then he has presented multi-artist shows in dozens of venues including the PuSH Festival in Vancouver, The Elks Hall in Sidney Nebraska, Mahon Hall on Salt Spring Island, and for the past eight years at the Vancouver Art Gallery.
On April 1 he will present a retrospective of some of his best shows as well as a richly varied selection of projected work from Salt Spring Artists Seth Berkowitz, Connie Kuhns, Margarite Sanchez, Amy Jones, Sophia Burke, Ahava Shira, David Borrowman, and others.
