Award-winning filmmaker Dianne Whelan’s new documentary 40 DAYS AT BASE CAMP will be screened with a Q&A featuring Whelan following the film.  Having recently premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival, this documentary promises to capture its Salt Spring audience with its intimate portrayal of Base Camp at Mt. Everest. It also examines the history of the mountain and the devastating effect of climate change on the ecology of the area. Finally, it provides a modern take on the transformation of Mt. Everest from what was once a revered, sacred space to the mountain theme park it is sadly becoming. Watch the movie trailer.
