Students will have weekly rehearsals in preparation for a concert at the end of the term. Classes will focus on learning repertoire including pop, folk, classical, and music from all over the world. Our most recent concert included songs by Imagine Dragons, the Beatles, a Hawaiian folk song, children’s nursery rhyme arrangement, and a gospel spiritual. Singers will be exposed to a wide variety of styles and singing techniques.
Classes will also focus on developing healthy singing techniques for individuals and choral ensembles, as well as a focus on reading music using Kodaly methodologies. The name Makana is the Hawaiian word for “gift” and these classes offer a gift that will stay with your children for the rest of their lives.
Parent/Guardian will need to complete a Waiver Form.
