Carol Adam’s exhibit, Window to the Soul, will be on display during the month of February in the ArtSpring lobby. The exhibit features a collection of portraits (by graphite powder with pencil) and centres thematically on Shakespeare’s line “eyes are the window to the soul”. Carol recounts that she’s always had a memory for faces, but won’t, like many people, remember a name seconds after being told it. A face, however, and the expression of the eyes, glues itself like a photograph to her mind forever. Even with aging, the person seen in the eyes doesn’t change.
Carol travelled a lot when she was in her twenties and will always remember the expression in eyes of people she met. The people, the expressions, the smells, the intensity all come second for her. If there is one thing she wants to capture in this show, it’s the eyes. With many of the people that Adam has met, the eyes are the one thing that always lets her in.
Come and enjoy the exhibit weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the month of February.
