Over the last five years Wen Wei Wang has become one of our favourite dance artists through his regular visits to ArtSpring. We are excited to present a brand new work from this extraordinary talent.

Co-created with Gao Yanjinzi, artistic director of Beijing Modern Dance Company, and Qiu Xia He, award-winning classical Chinese musician of Vancouver’s Silk Road Music, the work is a collective biography in which the creators explore memories of their childhood in China, their artistic training during the Cultural Revolution, and the daring paths their careers have taken abroad. The dance marries tradition with contemporary practice, reflecting the evolution of classical forms in a modern world.
