Death Cafe: Walk and Talk in Central Cemetery & ArtSpring Lobby

November 8, 2014 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

- Free

If death is the last stop for all of us why are we not talking about it more? In honour of those of us who have gone before, we will meet at Central Cemetery at 1 pm and be led on a walk by Dave Phillips, long time Salt Spring resident, historian and radio personality, who will tell us stories about community members who are buried here. Bring your umbrella if raining!

We will then go to ArtSpring lobby at 2 pm for Salt Spring’s First Death Café with Salt Spring Hospice facilitators JayaLynda Cole and Don Cockrill. We will have some refreshments and open up a discussion about death – talking about death is an important part of life.

This event coincides with Tara Cheyenne’s theatrical performance of Highgate which celebrates life and death. She does not shy away from difficult topics. In Highgate she embraces her dark side, which lucky for us, is full of humour and imaginative genius.

Please join us for this unique event, open to all who care about life AND death. This free event is supported by ArtSpring, Made in BC, Dave’s Drilling & Blasting, Salt Spring Hospice and Cats Pajamas.
