VocaMe, an early-music ensemble made up of four renowned female vocalists known for their breathtaking singing, returns to ArtSpring. VocaMe created a sensation with its original project, the world’s first recording of hymns by Kassia, a ninth-century Byzantine female composer. For its upcoming ArtSpring performance, VocaMe sings the music of Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179) former nun, composer, and philosopher, who was declared a saint by the Catholic Church in 2012. VocaMe is directed and accompanied by Michael Popp.
