Vintage Vancouver & More

League 181 presents Vintage Vancouver and More, a show of new paintings in the ArtSpring Lobby for the month of December.

A series of iconic black and white photos of Vancouver dating back over a century ago provided inspiration for the main display of the show. Transforming the photos into paintings became a larger challenge with the choice of a limited colour palette.

League 181 is a group of 6 artists, Herb Otto, Peter Eyles, Dulcy Wilson, Don Hodgins, Wendy Wickland and Judith Borbas. They meet weekly to paint often challenging each other to go beyond their comfort zone. Vintage Vancouver and More is the 2017 result.
