After playing the first annual Garlic Festival this past summer on Salt Spring, Uncle Wiggly’s Hot Shoes Blues Band and Guests returns with a show of traditional Blues Christmas tunes from the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s 50’s and 60’s by the likes of Louis Jordan, Big Joe Turner, BB King, Eric Clapton, Charles Brown and Etta James plus many more. This show gives you a look into the souls of these fabulous Christmas blues songs written by the legends of the blues.
Uncle Wiggly’s Hot Shoes Blues Band was formed in 1978. The band members are former RCA Recording Artists and are members of the Victoria Music Hall of Fame. They have toured extensively in the 80’s opening for such legends as Muddy Waters, Joe Cocker, James Cotton, Koko Taylor and Paul Butterfield to name a few.
*Salt Spring’s own Dave “the Duck” Rowse is in the band’s horn section. Duck always brings a little extra whenever Uncle Wiggly’s plays on Salt Spring.
