The New Orford String Quartet was formed in 2009 by four accomplished musicians from the Montreal and Toronto Symphonies as a reincarnation of the illustrious quartet that defined Canadian chamber music for 26 years till it disbanded in 1991.
Their plan is to “revolutionize the concept of string quartet playing in Canada, bringing together four stars of the classical music field for an extremely limited touring schedule on a project-by-project basis.” At ArtSpring they will play Beethoven Op. 135, a Canadian piece and a large romantic quartet, most likely Tchaikovsky.
