The Salt Spring Forum presents Olivia Chow on February 9th at ArtSpring. Born in Hong Kong, Chow immigrated to Canada at the age of thirteen. She entered politics at the age of 28 – serving for six years on the Toronto School Board, followed by 14 years on Toronto City Council. Chow was elected to the House of Commons in 2006, and relected in 2008 and 2011.
Chow’s marriage to Jack Layton was a truly remarkable partnership. For over two decades, the couple shared a powerful commitment to social change and an irrepressible passion for life. Following Layton’s death in 2011, Chow has continued to dedicate herself to the betterment of Toronto and Canada. Join the Forum for this truly inspiring event!
