To help us understand the ocean, the Salt Spring Forum is delighted to host world-renowned oceanographer Dr. Kate Moran. Dr. Moran is President & CEO of Ocean Networks Canada at the University of Victoria. Ocean Networks Canada operates the world-leading NEPTUNE and VENUS ocean observatories that collect a huge variety of data over long periods. From 2009 to 2011, Dr. Moran worked as an advisor to US President Barak Obama on science and technology policy. During her time in the White House, she focused on the Arctic, the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and climate policy.
