A war on science is underway in the United States, where President Donald Trump has fired government scientists, rolled back environmental protections, and withdrawn from the Paris Climate Agreement.
Nancy Baron, one of the most influential defenders of science in the United States, provides a superb start to the Salt Spring Forum’s fall speaker series.
Baron is Director of Science Outreach for COMPASS, a Portland-based organization that helps scientists to engage with the public and policymakers on issues such as climate change, fisheries, and endangered species.
Baron began her career as a naturalist in BC parks. She worked as a biologist in Banff National Park and as Director of Education at the Vancouver Aquarium. She then spent years as an award-winning magazine writer and journalist.
Please join the Forum for an important and inspiring conversation about science, communications, and changing the world!
