Dr. John Cassidy will lead our discussion on earthquakes and what living in one of the most seismically active regions in Canada, a place where some of the largest earthquakes have historically occurred, could mean for us.

Dr Cassidy is a Senior Research Scientist with Natural Resources Canada and leads the Geological Survey of Canada’s national “Assessing Earthquake and Volcanic Geohazards Project”and is also an adjunct Professor at the University of Victoria, School of Earth and Ocean Sciences. He has published more than 200 scientific papers and is an internationally respected expert in earthquake hazard research.
