Max Wyman: Why, for Whom, and How Much Do the Arts Matter?
Apr 18 | Who better to engage in a conversation about these questions than Max Wyman who appears as part of ArtSpring’s 25th Anniversary Celebration. The Salt Spring Forum, in partnership with ArtSpring, welcomes Max Wyman who for more than forty years has been one of Canada’s foremost arts critics, broadcasters and journalists, a former board member of the Canada Council, President of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO, and a tireless advocate for recognition of the arts as a crucial component of Canadian culture.
His new book, The Compassionate Imagination, passionately urges that the arts be recognized as essential to Canadian public life.
Wyman leads a discussion of his ideas and proposals in this Forum-style speaker event with questions from the audience, from 11am to noon.
This will be followed by a round-table discussion to continue the conversations. Refreshments will be served during this part of the event.
