“A resident for 13 years, I have been involved in different aspects of the island’s creative life. As novelist and playwright I have given workshops and readings. As actor, director and producer I have worked with various Island institutions. I was Artistic Director of Theatre Alive between 2019 and 2023, putting on stage readings of plays, even during the pandemic. My mission statement at Theatre Alive was ‘Great Plays. Simply Done’. Much of my work has focused on Shakespeare, to celebrate his stories and humanity, in simple and accessible stagings with a focus on the words. My goal was, and is, to involve people across a broad spectrum of the community, of diverse ages and experience levels, to share wonderful words and stories, both classical and modern, in the communal experience that is the beating heart of theatre – audience and players as one entity.”
