Calling all ballet lovers and dance aficionados! As part of ArtSpring’s 15 Year Anniversary Celebrations join us for a special screening of The Royal Ballet Covent Garden’s 1982 production of Manon – starring Salt Spring’s own prima ballerina Jennifer Penney. Penney joined the Royal Ballet in London in 1963 and became principal dancer in 1970. She has been described as, “a dancer with exquisite proportions and extraordinary fluidity.” She danced all the classical ballerina roles and was the ideal MacMillan heroine shining as Manon, Mary Vetsera and Juliet. Attend the DVD screening of Manon, view incredible photographs from Penney’s dance career, and stay for an engaging and informative Q&A session with Penney after the show.
