Made in Canada: A Tribute celebrates both the music of our beloved country and Mitch Howard’s final concert series as Director of Salt Spring Singers. Traditional songs like Cape Breton Lullaby, and Danse Mon Moine Danse join more modern pieces like In Remembrance and O Siem. The challenge of Soneto de la Noche by Mitch’s favourite choral composer Morten Lauridsen is set against Imant Raminsh’s Ubi Caritas. Audience favourites like This Land is Your Land will round out the program. A special guest appearance by Alan Moberg will have the choir on their mettle for his Williams Lake Stampede. Come for a rousing tribute to Canadian songs and to Mitch Howard’s passion for community music.
