The Salt Spring Grand(m)others to Grandmothers are proud to present a juried exhibition of 40 works by artists from across Canada, the United States and Europe that celebrates African grandmothers. The exhibit, Celebrating African Grandmothers, Heroes of the Continent, tells the story of the hope and small triumphs which light the way to victory over the AIDS pandemic.
Two local artists, Patricia Brown and Janis Woode are represented in the show. This art exhibit, assembled by the Royal City Gogos, is being hosted by the Salt Spring Island Grand(m)others to Grandmothers group which raises funds for grassroots projects supported by the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
You are invited to a reception on Friday, June 7th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The exhibit will be open in the June 6, 7 and 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
