The Salt Spring Concert Band and Music Director Dawn Hage present an evening of extraordinary wind music inspired by song, carols and chant. Viva Chorale! Youth members are the evening’s special guests under the direction of Debbi Toole.
The modern wind ensemble pairs exquisitely with the human voice and the sound of a children’s choir provides a particularly beautiful and poignant experience for the listener. The two ensembles will join together for Dry Your Tears, Afrika by John Williams and the traditional Do You Hear What I Hear? In addition, a solo voice will lead the band in Ave Maria and the choir will perform some of their own unaccompanied selections.
A November 30th concert date means the holiday season is just around the bend and the Concert Band will launch the festivities with selections based on traditional carols. There will also be classic wind ensemble pieces and more! This extraordinary concert gives audiences an opportunity to experience the voices of both winds and choir raised together in beautiful song.
