ArtSpring once again convenes distinguished musicians from as near at hand as Salt Spring to as far away as Barcelona during the week of July 23 to 28 to prepare and present four exciting concerts:

Luanne Katz & Festival Strings
Tuesday, July 24 – 8:00pm: Salt Spring percussionist Luanne Katz joins David Visentin, Kai Gleusteen, Paula Kiffner and Hirko Kagawa in a programme of new music for percussion and strings. (Adult: $18, Youth $5)

Student Recital
Thursday, July 26 – 8:00pm: Three UVic music students who play together as the Cordillera Piano Trio present Beethoven’s Ghost Trio and Brahms Trio No.3 as well as a new Canadian work. As always, the student performances at the Festival offer energy, youth and freshness in interpreting classical repertoire. (Adult: $12, Youth $5)

Alcan String Quartet
Friday, July 27 –8:00pm: Montreal’s famous Alcan String Quartet performs a programme of classical and contemporary music for string quartet. (Adult $18, Youth $5)

Festival Gala Concert:
Saturday, July 28 – 8:00pm: Festival Finale joins our regular faculty with the members of the Alcan Quartet and pianist Catherine Ordronneau in a gala concert, including the big Max Bruch Octet. (Adult: $20, Youth $5)
