ROUGH CUTS SESSION | New Work Preview | Wed Feb 22 Noon-1pm | FREE
Prior to Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg’s Thursday Feb 25th performance of “Body Parts,” she hosts a FREE public preview of her newest work-in-progress “Pants,” which has been developed in part with ArtSpring’s Creative Residency Program.
In this work Friedenberg, with her signature comedic combination of dance and talking, explores her own relationship (and that of her childhood) to gender. She invites viewers to ask questions, share experiences, and give feedback in a “discussion circle” format. The input is a valuable part of the process for artists.
“It’s very kind of autobiographical,” she says to the Georgia Strait. “What I’m trying to do is weave storytelling with the embodiment of my experience as somebody who mostly identifies as female but not exclusively—and just what it is to feel masculinity and femininity in the body.”
Rough Cuts is Wednesday February 22, Noon-1pm. email@example.com to sign up or call the Box Office 250-537-2102.
