About Allan Edwards
Allan Edwards grew up on Vancouver Island and had a full career designing hotels for the Hilton chain all over the world. He had a strong connection to the University of Victoria through executing the first conceptual renderings of the early buildings. His architectural talents extended also to downtown Victoria when he initiated the restoration of Bastion Square. The Art Gallery of Victoria also benefited from his talents and generosity through dozens of pieces gifted to them by Edwards. In his later years, Edwards lived on Salt Spring Island where he was an active member of the Painter’s Guild and had a voice in the early conceptual conversations of ArtSpring. Edwards donated his watercolour “The Set Painters” to ArtSpring, which hangs prominently in our lower lobby.
