The Salt Spring Painters’ Guild hosts an opening reception for its summer art show and sale, Shades of Summer, on Saturday, July 26 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The show will feature a diverse range of acrylic, oil, watercolour, and multi-media pieces, as well as small works of art and cards, priced to fit modest budgets. The high school student recipient of the Painters’ Guild annual scholarship will also be highlighted. There will be a memorial display, honouring the late Jack Avison, who mentored many artists during his career. The exhibit and sale is open from Saturday, July 26 to Sunday, August 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.
