Salt Spring Island Conservancy Presents
“Migratory Birds on the West Coast: The Marvels and the Perils”.
Whether travelling 3,000 or 70,000km, migratory birds of the Pacific Flyway perform an amazing annual feat and encounter many threats along the way.
Learn the astonishing facts of these wondrous and perilous journeys with Stan Senner, vice president of bird conservation in the Pacific Flyway for the National Audubon Society.
Stan brings his knowledge from a 40-year career as a bird conservationist and his experience as a coordinator for science and restoration programs after the Exxon Valdez oil spill and tracker of the BP Deepwater Horizon oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.
The evening will also include either a panel of expert guests and/or question period.
The event is a fall fundraiser for the Salt Spring Island Conservancy and will include a silent auction beginning at 6:30, which will run through intermission and close 10 minutes after the talk.
