Sing and Learn Together
Developing the voice, musical literacy, and ensemble techniques.
Makana is the Hawaiian word for ‘gift’. Music is a gift that will stay with you for your whole life. This choir is a fun opportunity to sing with other children and to focus specifically on developing good vocal habits at a young age. Students will focus on concepts of vocal technique that include; resonance, voice placement, control and confidence while singing. The class will include instruction in music literacy and a focus on developing the ear. Makana will also develop the students’ ability to sing in an ensemble. Focus will be placed on singing in harmony, blend and balance. Each term will end in a performance in the ArtSpring theatre.

VERY IMPORTANT – Do not attend Choir if you are showing any symptoms.
2. Number of participants
The group size will be limited to 12 singers max.
3. Duration
Classes will be shortened to 1hr.
4. Face masks
Due to the mixed ages in the group, all students are required to wear a face mask.

Singers will maintain a minimum of 6ft between each singer – more space if possible.
