“Making Lemonade”

It began in 2020, all three boys home all the time.

I make the food offerings to appease them, array myself in the ragged vestments of my order and undertake the pilgrimage through my garden to the sacred ancient trailer that holds the tools of my faith. I complete the ritual choosing of the playlist and pray for the divine spark to flow through me onto my substrate.

Regardless, I will repeat the process and tomorrow and the day after in hope of leaving a worthy artifact when I am done.

For the last four years this has been my process and these paintings, for the most part non representational but sometimes referencing landscape and organic plant forms, are the artifacts of this process.
