The Island Textile Artists latest show called “Diverse Threads” reflects the multitude of ways in which working with textiles creates pleasing and exciting art. Our group of nine members is very diverse. Some of us prefer hand stitching, others prefer machine stitching while some like to do gel prints or manipulate fabric with a heat gun. Still others like to create biological prints, sun prints or do ice dyeing.

We love that our work is varied but when we plan an exhibition, we choose a project to unite us as a group. This year it is the 4 Elements: Fire, Air, Earth and Water. We invite you to see the show to share our ideas and to view our love of textiles. Every person in this world was once wrapped in textiles, now wears it, cuddles up in it up in it and even hangs it on our walls.
