Dr. Bonnie Henry says to be kind, be calm, be safe. She never said to write a limerick on the subject of the pandemic, but why not have a little fun?
This project is a collaboration between ArtSpring, Salt Spring Island Public Library and Salt Spring Island Foundation. We all thought it would be great fun to work together to engage the creativity of the wider community, create a historical documentation of the COVID-19 pandemic time period, raise funds for COVID-19 Emergency Grants, and publish a book of submitted limericks.
Limericks will be judged by local authors Kathy Page, Chris Humphreys, and Diana Hayes. All decisions will be final. Two winners will be announced on August 31, 2020 (one adult and one 18 years and under). Each winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to Salt Spring Books.
What: write a limerick on the subject of the pandemic in five lines of text
