Kiran Ahluwalia is a modern purveyor of the great vocal traditions of India and Pakistan which she honours, yet also departs from in order to explore bold new territories. Winning two JUNOs, the UK Songlines Award and two Canadian Folk Awards, Kiran has over the course of six albums created a style uniquely her own – a hybrid of Indian grooves and Saharan Desert blues with elements of jazz thrown in.

The show is preceded by a GISS music workshop at 1:45 pm.
