Island Women Agains Violence (IWAV) proudly presents the Portuguese film Quem se Importa? or in English Who Cares? The film spans the world in search of the most innovative social entrepreneurs currently imagining a better planet. This award-winning film by Mara Mourão is shot in 20 different locations in a span of 40 days and highlights the lives of people who are changing the world. From a Canadian educator teaching empathy to children to a Brazilian priest who became a banker, the theme is clear: everyone can change the world.
At 6:00 p.m., the evening will begin with one of the people featured in the film, Al Etmanski who is the founder of the Planned Lifetime Advocacy Network (PLAN). He will share his impressions of the Salt Spring changemakers he met at the “Appreciative Inquiry” round table discussion that took place earlier that day. The movie starts at 7:00 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m. with refreshments and snacks to follow. Tickets available both at ArtSpring and Transitions Thrift Store.
