A Christmas Pops Concert with Dawn Hage and the Salt Spring Concert Band on December 10 at ArtSpring. Beloved classics such as the Pachelbel Canon, Tschaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite and Bach’s Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring pair up with a glorious medley of tunes from the movie soundtracks of The Polar Express and Home Alone. Sing along to Leroy Anderson’s A Christmas Festival and let the simple beauty of Alfred Reed’s arrangement of Greensleeves take your breath away. The Celtic Carol and Patapan feature individual soloists and a remarkable array of percussion and are exciting new additions to the concert band’s repertoire. The concert will also feature music by Saint-Saen, Grainger and Handel to round out this incredible evening of timeless, beloved and brand new holiday selections.
