The Edge of Motion is the latest performance by the dancers of G.I.S.S. These teens truly are on the edge of motion, of choreography, and of their artistic visions. A highly skilled group of choreographers, these teens that range from grade 9 to 12 have created an amazing, eclectic show. The show is comprised of the final choreography projects from the dance class and award-winning pieces that were performed at theDance Festival in Victoria. The winner of the Student Choreography Award at the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival, Rebecca Johnstone, will present her new piece “Raise Your Weapon”. The group of G.I.S.S. dancers who have created the show were also awarded the Spirit of Dance Award for their inspirational choreographies, professionalism and artistic depth at the Victoria Dance Festival. The G.I.S.P.A. dancers will perform “Inescapable” and show their new film of the dance piece, filmed by local film artist Eric Peterson of Faultline T.V. Also in the show is a challenging piece where modern dance contracts and swings right into the sharp, aggression of Hip Hop in Nadeen Whitcutt’s new work entitled,“I Can’t Stop”. Trevor Walker’s tribute to Michael Jackson will entertain and wow! Joined byFarley Cannon, Walker’s spins and struts remind us of the magic that Michael Jackson left us with. This group is truly inspired: you will be impressed.
Please come to watch these talented, enthusiastic youth do what they love to do! Come to see them onThe Edge of Motion.
