The Gulf Islands School of Performing Arts (GISPA) presents Haroun. This production, based on Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie, upholds the innovative integration of dance, music and theatre that GISPA is known for. GISPA has produced an exquisite show full of spinning stories and fanciful lands. This collective creation is a beautiful and imaginative journey, that promises to soar.
GISPA students adapted the script from Salman Rushdie’s novel, where a young boy must travel much farther than he expected to find the answers he is looking for. These talented students have collectively created, composed, choreographed and developed Haroun under the direction of Bruce Smith (music), Sonia Langer (dance) and Jason Donaldson (theatre) with assistance from GISPA alumni Halley Fulford with Theatre design. Come along and experience our journey to surreal places within a captivating story everyone will enjoy.
