Salt Spring Island’s Fine Art Signature Showcase: 3rd Annual “Best Of” Art Exhibit on Salt Spring Island organized by gallery owner Matt Steffich takes place at the ArtSpring Gallery from June 29 to July 7. The 3rd Annual Fine Art Signature Showcase features 40 selected island artists celebrating vibrant new works on display for over nine days from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.
The highly anticipated exhibit will be punctuated with several key art events happening in the gallery space:
· The opening reception takes place Friday, June 29 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
· Mother Tongue Book launch of “The Life and Art of Ina D. D. Uhthoff”, on Sat. June 30 at 8:00 p.m. Free. Meet the author. Books for sale.
· Art Salon with Western Arts Correspondent for the Globe and Mail, Marsha Lederman, Tuesday, July 3 at 7:00 p.m., and co-hosted by the Salt Spring Forum. Tickets available at ArtSpring Box Office.
· Artnight, an artist roundtable discussion on Wednesday, July 4 at 6:30pm with details available by contacting Michael Robb at mhrobb@telus.net.
· Dinner in the Gallery on Friday July 6 at 7:00pm with proceeds to the Salt Spring Arts Council. The cost is $50 a plate. Sit down dinner in the gallery featuring BBQ fresh Sock eye salmon, glass of wine, local strawberry shortcake. Call (250) 537-0899 or email ssartscouncil.com to book your seat.
