We are thrilled that Morna Edmundson of Vancouver’s Elektra Women’s Choir will be running a three-day Choral Festival for women’s voices at ArtSpring. Morna specializes in adult women’s choirs of all levels and enjoys conducting the classics of the repertoire to the latest contemporary music, with an emphasis on Canadian repertoire. Join us on March 25 when the Festival participants present the workshopped music in concert together with members of the Elektra Women’s Choir.
Workshop cost $85 (Early Bird special) / $100 (after Feb 15)

Registration will open on January 8th. Please register in person at the ArtSpring Box Office, your music will be available at the box office. You can pay by cheque payable to “ArtSpring”, credit card, debit, or cash at the time of registration.
Up to March 8 refund can be issued, less $55 administration fee.

Morna Edmundson is one of Canada’s best-known choral conductors with a strong reputation for excellence. Passionate since childhood about choral singing, she obtained degrees and diplomas in vocal music in Vancouver, Bellingham, and Stockholm, Sweden where her teachers included Eric Ericson. In 1987, she co-founded Elektra Women’s Choir with Diane Loomer, a treasured partnership that lasted 22 years. In 2009, Morna became Elektra’s sole Artistic Director, continuing the choir’s strong leadership role in concert presentation, commissioning, recording, and mentorship. For 14 years Morna was Associate Artistic Director of Coastal Sound Music Academy, where she was Music Director of the mixed-voice Youth Chamber Choir. In June 2011 Morna received a Vancouver YWCA Woman of Distinction award in recognition of her work with Elektra. Since 2013, she has served as a Board member of Chorus America, the advocacy, research, and leadership development organization that gives voice to the choral field.
