Caravan World Rhythms presents “Confluencias”: an intimate evening of fiery and refined flamenco music and dance, deeply infused with Indian flavours, led by award-winning artists direct from Madrid, Spain: flautist Lara Wong & flamenco guitarist Melón Jiménez. They are joined by acclaimed dancer from Bordeaux, France, Deborah “La Caramelita, and Italian percussionist Davide Sampaolo.
Flautist Lara Wong and guitarist Melón Jiménez redefine flamenco by blending the fiery art form with jazz, Indian music, and contemporary global folk. In a dynamic dialogue between cultures, Melón and Lara take audiences on a musical journey of original compositions and vivid improvisation, with dazzling flamenco guitar riffs, mystical bansuri melodies, and vibrant global rhythms. Audiences will also be treated to the entrancing dancer “La Caramelita”, whose striking choreographies are inspired by the passion, power and sensuality of flamenco as well as her Indian heritage.
