ArtSpring Presents
Bouge de là Community Dance Workshop
with Corinne Crane, Ariane Boulet, and Hélène Langevin
Improvisational tools
Dancers and performers of all levels will benefit from a community workshop that Hélène Langevin will lead with company performers Corinne Crane and Ariane Boulet.
Focus is on structured improvisational dance tools aimed at finding expression of the body, having fun dancing together and promoting listening to the group. Hélène has a special talent for instilling the sheer pleasure of movement in her students. The community workshop is for teenagers and adults; children over seven years old may register as well if accompanied by an adult.
Hélène Langevin studied contemporary dance at l’Université du Québec à Montréal, and has taught creative dance for over twenty-five years. She has pursued her research in a range of movement techniques, including contact improvisation, theatre, vocal exploration and Tango. Her tastes definitely lean towards the theatrical, as well as the exploration of different art forms combining elements of video, acrobatics and dance. Her true passion is to transmit to people of all ages the pleasure of dancing, and in doing so, reconciling pedagogy and creation.
Hélène’s strength is her ability to be playful and whimsical without being choreographically reductive.
