Get ready for laughs, music and drama when a live, 1940’s-style radio show is staged at ArtSpring on July 21 and 22. The Adventures of Tom Thumb Private Detective, is a homage to those magical nights when children pretended to be asleep and went ‘undercover’ to listen to the great noir detective broadcasts of the day. It tips a hat to those classic fairy tales and stories we heard and read when we were little, such as Snow White, Rapunzel, Humpty Dumpty. Many of those stories ended with unsolved mysteries, and who better to solve them than Tom Thumb, Private Detective?
The radio play is performed by Salt Spring actors, with musical entertainment by The Myrtle Sisters and The Regulars and is a fundraiser for CHIR.fm.
