The Salt Spring Island Weavers and Spinners Guild welcomes spring with a special exhibition in ArtSpring’s gallery space. This unique collection illustrates the diverse modes of expression that are possible using yarn and fibre.
All items have been handmade by guild members, and range from the humble, practical tea towel to complex works of fibre art. The exhibit contains contributions from some of Salt Spring’s finest textile artisans, including Jane Stafford, Karen Selk, Ilse Leader, Judith Dios, and Jane Kidd.
The galleries are open to the public from 10-4 on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, or join guild members on Thursday afternoon from 1-4 to learn about the creative potential of spinning, weaving, felting and dyeing.
