Dear Friends,
Funny how during these times the small things have become so important: a quick note from a loved one, the lengthening of days, and the shyly blooming cherry trees. Joan Blackman commented to me recently that she feels completely “zoomed-out”. That doesn’t show in her recent online concert of Serban Nichifor’s Klezmer Dance which I’ve included in this newsletter. Not a small thing at all but a big bold piece played by an ensemble of women for our enjoyment!
The BC Provincial Health Order of November 19 has been extended and will be kept in place until further notice based on direction from the PHO. Unfortunately this means that ArtSpring will be closed to the public for the time being. Our Makana Youth Choir is able to continue under the current order.
With thanks,
Cicela Månsson

“Great artists don’t just happen,” Georgia O’Keeffe once said. “They have to be trained, and in the hard school of experience.” I am very interested in the process behind art making and enjoyed learning a bit about Georgia O’Keefe’s way of tackling her work.
