Thank you this week to Anna Haltrecht, who says, “It was so sad that we had to cancel the last 2 dance productions. This week we would have had Peggy Baker . . .But I keep busy with my online classes and the garden. I like listening to podcasts while gardening and recently discovered and have been enjoying Tara Cheyenne’s podcast. Tara is dearly loved by our dance community, having been to ArtSpring many times. She is crazy silly, funny, and very imaginative. She has a great sense of spontaneity and humour which comes out in her podcasts where she talks about her current creative projects, interviews other artists in the dance community, and gives lots of tips to artists who are searching for their own creative spirit.”
We are happy to highlight Ms Cheyenne’s podcast. Enjoy. http://www.taracheyenne.com/podcast
ArtSpring’s Staff Submissions
From Jane – “Needing comfort while working from home and missing friends at ArtSpring, I’ve turned to baking with a vengeance – trying to perfect a pizza base, an ever-fluffier Victoria sponge cake, and most frequently these chocolate crackle-tops: Get the recipe.
And to counter all that deliciousness, and guilt, I’ve been enjoying (?) these daily YouTube workouts with UK personal trainer Joe Wicks. There are so many videos to choose from, but his daily PE With Joe (aimed at families under lockdown) are quick, fun, and exhausting.” Access the workouts.
From Malcolm – “While Artspring is closed the Technical Director has been working on maintenance and installation of some new equipment. A huge thank you to Al Lehmann for building this fantastic microphone stand dolly for us! Thanks Al, we love the new dolly! Al also built us a new lens case to allow us to store delicate lighting lenses safely. What an incredible community we have here with such diverse skills amongst such a generous group.”
ArtSpring was pleased to present two performances of this opera for school groups in early March. Now, Pacific Opera Victoria and Vancouver Opera present a free broadcast of the new family opera The Flight of the Hummingbird.
The spring tour was stalled and community performances were cancelled due to C-19, but they are pleased to present a free online broadcast of the opera for families and educators.
