Congratulations Collegium String Quartet

BlytheGreat news today that Victoria’s Collegium String Quartet, who participated in the 6th annual Salt Spring Chamber Music Festival a few weeks ago, has just won first prize at the 42nd National Music Festival held at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo.

Violinists Ceilidh Briscoe and Blythe Allers (Blythe is pictured here), violist Jordan Vermes and cellist Ethan Allers spent a week at ArtSpring working with Kai Gleusteen, David Visentin and our other regular faculty to polish the music they went on to play in Waterloo. Our Salt Spring audience got to hear their performance of the Ravel quartet at the Saturday closing performance of our festival, and a wonderful and stirring performance it was too.

We are delighted that ArtSpring was able to make a small contribution to their impressive triumph on the national stage, and we wish the quartet every success in the future.
