Maya Hoffman Scholarship

Maya HoffmanThe Island Arts Centre Society has established an annual scholarship in memory of Maya Hoffman, a Salt Spring resident and child prodigy who won several awards as a pianist in her youth. The scholarship was created at the initiative of Lisa Cherry, a friend of Maya’s, to help other musically talented children reach their potential and fulfill their dreams by providing financial assistance toward piano lessons or other music education of their choice.

Eligibility:
The scholarship seeks to help young musicians under the age of 16 in the following priority:

1 Piano students who live on Salt Spring Island who need assistance with the costs of piano lessons, with participation in piano festivals, camps or residences, or with other educational costs related to their musical development.

2 Piano students from other Gulf Islands who wish to participate in piano festivals, camps or residencies taking place on Salt Spring Island.
